B22 - BC - Bayonet Cap
B22 is the most common standard size light bulb cap, your white pendant found in most homes will take this size of light bulb cap. Apart from the normal household size, it also comes in candle or golf ball shape.
B15 - SBC - Small Bayonet Cap
These are generally candle or golf ball bulbs. Available in clear or pearl.
E27 - ES - Edison Screw
The Edison screw light bulb is the screw equivalent cap size of the common light bulb. Also comes in candle or golf ball shape.
E14 - SES - Small Edison Screw
This type of light bulb comes in generally a candle or golf ball shape. Many chandelier type light fittings take this type of light bulb.
G9 - Halogen Capsule Bulb
This a mains voltage halogen capsule bulb, becoming increasingly more common in the more modern designs of light fitting. The life span of these bulbs can be up to five times that of a GLS(General Lighting Service)bulb.
G4 - Low Voltage Capsule Bulb
The G4 bulb can only be used with a transformer and operates at 12 Volts. Found most commonly in the multi-arm modern light fittings where 10 Watt G4 bulbs are used. These light bulbs have a much greater life span than a GLS bulb
Wattages
All of the above light bulbs come in a variety of wattages, it is essential that you go by the manufacturers recommendation for the correct maximum wattage to be used.
