Dining room lighting

Dining room lighting would need to be altered to suit the use of the room at a specific time. At family mealtimes good clean bright light is generally required. Whereas, in the evening, you may wish to have a lower level of light in order, perhaps, to achieve a romantic ambience.

It is quite a good idea to illuminate the main part of the dining area with reasonably good light directly above the dining table, however a dimmer switch can be installed for those who like to dine by a softer more subdued light.

Table lamps on a sideboard or side table can be used to good effect. Ever popular are the chandeliers, obtainable in either traditional styles with crystal or multi-faceted glass droplets which shine prisms of light around a room or the more modern contemporary light fittings in metal & glass with their clean lines.
